Job Description

The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a (2025-2026 School Year) Part-Time Elementary Art Teacher to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing and challenging classroom environment devoted to helping all students reach their full potential. 

REQUIREMENTS:	NYS Certification Art (K-12)
RESPONSIBILITIES:	The teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum. Develop lesson plans and assignments to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students. Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment. Providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques. Supervising lessons to ensure respectful interaction among learners. Collaborating with other teachers. Setting learning objectives. Inspiring creativity and self-expression among students. Teaching various art forms and techniques. Maintaining art records and portfolios of students.
START:	September 2, 2025
SALARY:	According to the LVSEA Teachers Contract

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience teaching elementary school art. Strong background in both traditional art techniques and technology-based design skills. Proven leadership, organizational, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to engage, motivate and challenge students. Understanding of modern teaching techniques and use of classroom technologies.
