Job Description

The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a (2025-2026 School Year) Leave Replacement Assistant Principal - Middle School.

REQUIREMENTS: NYS Certification: Building Leader (SBL)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for reviewing daily staff attendance which includes and is not limited to assigning substitutes, and TA’s for coverage across classrooms and students.
• Help students resolve non-academic issues or problems and handle any disciplinary issues.
• Lead and/or participate in student disciplinary meetings/hearings.
• Assist the Principal with any MS school events during the leave replacement period.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• School administration/leadership experience as an Assistant Principal or Principal is preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to handle frequent interruptions, unexpected situations, and a range of duties.
• Respond to any incidents or disciplinary issues with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Problem solver with the ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and resolve conflicts.
