Job Description

The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a (2025-2026 School Year) Part-Time ENL Teacher (Elementary) to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing and challenging classroom environment devoted to helping all students reach their full potential. 

REQUIREMENTS:

NYS Certification TESOL (K-12)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ENL Teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum. Develop and present curriculum ENL lesson plans (course materials and related activities) and assignments to students. Assess, evaluate and track student performance and ongoing progress. Build and manage trusting relationships with the students, parents, and school staff. Keep parents informed of student progress.  Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of the students. Provide assignments based on the lesson plans. Collaborate with teachers on building, evolving ENL lesson plans for a more consistent student learning experience.

 

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience as an ENL teacher. Strong background in both traditional art techniques and technology-based design skills. Proven leadership, organizational, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to engage, motivate and challenge students. Understanding of modern teaching techniques and use of classroom technologies.
