Job Description

The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a Part-Time Cleaner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs routine cleaning duties under supervision. Cleaners will be responsible for the cleanliness of the areas they are assigned.   Typical duties include and is not limited to: 

• Sweep mop, dust, and vacuum floors; clean desks and chairs; empty trash bins.

• Secures windows and doors after cleaning assigned areas. 

• Sanitize toilets and sinks; replenish toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.

• Dust surfaces and equipment; clean and sanitize shared spaces.

• Handle spills and accidents as needed.

• Ensure cleaning tools and machines are in good working condition; report any needed repairs.

• Follow health and safety regulations; use cleaning products safely and effectively.

Salary:

• $20 per hour.

Hours:

• Monday - Friday 
• 3:00PM-7:00PMPM (anticipated hours subject to change)

Location:

• Middle/High School

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.

• Good judgment and character. 

• Capable of performing physical tasks with cleaning (e.g., lifting, bending and reaching for periods of time).

• Reliable and consistent.   Dependable attendance and work performance.

• Teamwork.  Works well with others and can take direction.

• Good time management and efficient.

• Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in cleaning operations.
