Job Description

The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a Substitute Food Service Helper to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation.
• Serving and customer service duties (taking in customer orders)
• Cleaning, maintaining work areas, floors, tables and counters according to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Organizing kitchen inventory supplies and food ingredients.
• Record food inventory supplies.
• Ensures compliance with all State, Federal and local health and safety requirements for safe food handling.

   

Work Hours and Benefits:

School work days (M-F); 20 hours or as needed (9:00AM - 2:00PM).  There are no benefits.   

Training and Education:

• Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.

Salary:

• Hourly rate: $18.27 (incremental increase depending on experience).

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in a similar role.
• Prior experience in school establishments is preferred.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
