| | RESPONSIBILITIES: | - The Teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum.
- Develop and present curriculum lesson plans in support of student IEPs (course materials and related activities) and assignments to students.
- Modifies existing instructional plans as necessary to accommodate individual students’ special needs.
- Assess, evaluate and track student performance and ongoing progress.
- Build and manage trusting relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
- Keep parents informed of student progress through regular communication on IEP progress and feedback.
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
- Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the lesson plans.
- Collaborate with teachers on building, evolving lesson plans for a more consistent student learning experience.
- Develop new ideas and concepts through a variety of strategies to help students uncover new ideas of their own.
- Working with students individually if they need extra help and support.

Certification must be from New York State.

- Facilitate, execute or carry out lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on available lesson plan.
