REQUIREMENTS:

• NYS Certification Business and Marketing (All Grades)
• NYS Certification Coordinator of Work-Based Learning Programs (preferred)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The substitute teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum.

• Develop lesson plans and assignments to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Teach students business financial literacy topics which includes Financial & Business Management, Accounting, Business Law, Entrepreneurship, Marketing & International Business, and Career Development.
• Stay up-to-date on current financial topics, on-going evolution of global financial markets and industry market trends.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assess, evaluate and track student progress through in-class/at-home assignments, projects and exams.
• Effective and ongoing communication with parents, colleagues and administration.
• Attending meetings and maintaining professional development standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education B-2
• NYS Certification in Childhood Education 1-6

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Substitute Teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, and teaching the provided curriculum.

• Develop and design lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Develop new ideas and concepts through a variety of strategies to help students uncover new ideas of their own.
• Build relationships with students and their families through regular communication and feedback.
• Working with students individually if they need extra help and support.
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan.

~September 1, 2026 through February 1, 2027

According to the LVSEA Teachers Contract

REQUIREMENTS:

• NYS Certification in Science (7-12)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The special education teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum.
• Explain science concepts and principles to students in a comprehensible manner.  Incorporate hands-on laboratory activities into instruction where appropriate.
• Develop and present curriculum lesson plans in support of student IEPs (course materials and related activities) and assignments to students.
• Modifies existing instructional plans as necessary to accommodate individual students’ special needs.
• Assess, evaluate and track student performance and ongoing progress.
• Build and manage trusting relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
• Keep parents informed of student progress through regular communication on IEP progress and feedback.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the lesson plans.
• Collaborate with teachers on building, evolving lesson plans for a more consistent student learning experience.
