The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a (2025-2026 School Year) Teaching Assistant (Elementary) to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing and challenging classroom environment devoted to helping all students reach their full potential. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be certified as a NYS Teaching Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  • Assist the teacher with routine classroom preparation duties and help develop instructional materials.
  • Help with classroom setup by distributing/gathering materials and setting up equipment.
  • Support and assist students with instructional resources and on instructional projects.
  • Collect, maintain and provide data and information to the classroom teacher and other team members regarding student skills, progress, behaviors, and needs.
  • Assist the teacher with classroom management (e.g., help maintain discipline and a positive learning environment)
  • Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as lunch, recess or transition between activities.
  • Establish good relationships with students, parents and other staff members.

SCHEDULE:

As needed throughout the academic school year.

SALARY:

Teaching Assistant hourly rate starting at $19.02

Possibility of incremental increase based on experience and educational assignments.
$19.02
